O God our Father, the image on the Shroud reminds us of the suffering inflicted on your Son, Jesus, who took on himself the sins of the world. Help us to see him in every person, so that we may serve him and proclaim his love, and grant us the joy of contemplating the radiant face of Jesus, risen from the dead, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen.

PRAYER IN FRONT OF THE HOLY SHROUD OF TURIN

Lord Jesus Christ, through your passion, death and resurrection you redeem us and raise us to new life in the Spirit. As we venerate the Holy Shroud, wonderful icon of your suffering, we are moved by your love revealed here in all its lowly majesty.

By meditating on your sacrifice, teach us the way of salvation so that we may embrace the fullness of life you offer us. Help us to take up our cross each day and to follow you joyfully along the path of discipleship.

Take us into your pierced Heart, opened on the cross for us. There, transformed by your grace, may we be renewed, made holy and consecrated to your service.

Accept us, Lord, as an offering, an oblation, to serve you faithfully, so we too may become icons of your mercy, a living Gospel, to proclaim your boundless love to the men and women of our time. Hear our prayer, Lord Jesus, for we trust in you. Amen.

O God, who in the Holy Shroud, in which Joseph wrapped your most sacred Body taken down from the Cross, you have left the vestiges of your Passion: grant that by the power of your death and burial we might merit the glory of the Resurrection. Amen

Print Your Face in me, Lord, so that the Father, in seeing You in me, could repeat: “You are the son I love”, an so that whoever meets me could see a spark of the Father.

Print Your Face in me, Lord, so that I could be a witness of Your light and of Your Goodness, and of the boundless tenderness You have for every creature.

Print Your Face in me, Lord, so that I could be a sign of Your Love for the little ones and the poor, for the sick and the outcasts.

Print Your Face in me, Lord, so that I could be a living Shroud, which bears in itself the signs of Your Death and Resurrection.

Amen

That those who share the message of the Shroud will humble themselves so as to serve as worthy instruments for this holy endeavor.

PRAYER ADDRESSED TO JESUS ON THE HOLY SHROUD

Jesus, My Lord and My God

when I look at the image on the Holy Shroud..

I see You, Who laid down Your Life for me on the Cross; shedding Your Blood to forgive me and wash me of all my sins - to ransom me from the kingdom of darkness and bring me to the glorious kingdom of God's heavenly Light and Truth.

I see Your disfigured Face, which reflects the faces of all God's children on earth who are longing to be tenderly consoled, touched and healed by the divine shining light of Your heavenly glory.

I see Your tortured Body covered with the marks of Your atrocious Passion which resemble the hurts and wounds which sin has brought upon all of us human beings.

I see You totally naked in order to be united with my soul's nakedness, offering me the hope of being clothed once again in the Garments of Salvation, Garments of Light and Garments of Divine Praise, the Cloak of Gladness and the Clothing of Goodness and Holiness.

Jesus, My Lord and My God, even though Your Eyes are closed, You see me, You are looking out for me...

To console me in Your gracious love and mercy

To strengthen me in my weakness and weariness

To forgive me all of my sins and cloth me with purity

To support me by carrying me and my burdens

To give me hope and confidence by your presence

To anoint me with Your Holy Spirit of peace and joy

To assure me of Your Father's Tender Loving Care

To place me in Your Mother's immaculate Heart

To raise me up by the power of Your Resurrection

To cloth me with the Mantle of Your Divine Light

To cover me and protect me by Your Holy Shroud...

May the Light of Your Holy Face shine upon us!

Remain with us Lord.

Amen
